Power of habits and How to create stronger habits?

Greeting...

    Before giving any advice on the ways to build and improve your habits, I'd like to first remove all the ambiguity about the habits because it is misunderstood by many. In the comments section, write the meaning of habits (use your experience and mind, not google😏)

Q. What are habits??

    Our unconscious mind behaviours are habits. In simple terms, they are reflex actions that prevail as a result of our routine behaviour.

    Numerous factors contribute towards the formation of habit. Psychologists have aid in several types of research to find out the science behind the development of habits.

Note: These laws are dynamic because they will be dealing with individuals.

 But why to change or build a habit? What is the purpose of habit??

That's a nice question to come in the mind, right?

The purpose of habit is to help us solve the problems that we are facing and improve our lifestyle.
Ex: Let's take an example of a smoker who smokes a lot. He is frustrated and is facing a lot of problems and want to change his lifestyle.
Changing the way of living is one of the most basic reasons why someone wants to develop or build a new habit.

Habits are unconscious consequences in any situation.
Ex: covering mouth while sneezing

Always remember, it's is difficult to discard the habit compared to initiating new ones. Try changing your bad habits with the good ones. You can influence the whole world if you invest a small amount of time daily in creating strong habits.

If you apply the below-mentioned ways you will be able to create a new habit for sure.

  • SOBC + Reward/ achieve what we need or want Model.

S = Situation
O = Organism
B = Behaviours
C = Consequences
When a human behaves in a  particular situation, he will face consequences and those consequences will depict his subsequent behaviour. To make it clear I will give an example to which you can relate.

Ex: If a 2-year-old child touches a hot pan. His hand will burn. The repercussion of his action will guide his future behaviour. He will think thousand of times before touching any pan again.

You need to know that every behaviour is guided by an effect of the past action. Faster you find your situation faster will be your improvement process.

  • Seed Effect.

Like one seed yield the plant. Similarly, the small changes in your day to day activity will result in the emergence of a whole new habit.
Ex: If you want to improve your diet, then exchange your unhealthy and canned food with healthy food.
If you want to start gyming in the morning, make your gym cloth and keep them near the bed. It will create an urge to exercise.

Your behaviour is guided as per the situation and the consequence. If the reward you get from the particular activity is pleasing then you will automatically glinds towards it.

Create a proper place, time and situation, follow it dedicatedly till a month and then it will become your habit.

  • Be consistent.

One ought to be consistent in his work. His persistence defines the speed towards the route of his success.
Like one-day workout will never grow muscles, similarly, the one-day effort will not help in the formation of habits.
Use the 1% rule to improve your consistency. 1% rule states that you put 1% effort in every 24 hours. It will help you change. The shift may be gradual but will benefit you in the long run.

  • Give priority to goals, not processes.

Always remember to give priority to the important things. If you will ask me then the process of achieving the goals will always be more important than the goals.

Let us assume a situation where you want to score more than your friend. You worked hard to achieve the goal and had achieved it. The outcome will give your satisfaction and once you are satisfied you will stop working hard because you don't have any other goal. This is a goal-based outcome where you have stopped working after achieving your goals.
Now think of a process-based outcome in which even after getting more marks than your friend, you'll work the same hard and become the topper of the School.
You should always make short and long terms(to keep the process alive) goals and give importance to process

Process and consistency go hand in hand. Goals are making objectives, the process leads to achieving the goal.

  • work more, complain less.

Work is proportional to success, the more you work, the more will be the chances of your success. Complains are inversely proportional to success. Work as much and as better as possible. Complain less.

Try to inverse and improves the area of complaint.
Always remember to be a problem solver, not a problem creator or problem finder.

  • great thing takes time.

Movement in tectonic plates took several years to what we see on earth today. It took millions of year to make a plate-like structure looks like beautiful planet earth as we see today.
 That's why you should always keep patients while learning something new. The great thing takes time.

Always remember, there will be a time when your mind will procrastinate and will say to stop trying.  The mind will give reasons like what if your hard work will not pay off in the future. If this is the case, please remember that what you will do today will help you in future. Dots will connect someday.

  • Connecting the dots:

Always think of your long-term benefits. You should always keep in mind that what you do today will help you to improve yourself in long run.

Ex: cigarette and  alcohol may give you relief in the short term but the opportunity cost of that satisfaction is your health and the life years expectancy.

  •   Act till enact:

Make a fake self as you want to see yourself in reality. Act what you want to do in the future. But always keep in mind that one should never hide his or her originality.
Ex: Act like a topper, plan like a topper, study like a topper, one day you'll become one of the class toppers.

If you want to become a writer stay with those who like writing poems and stories. Follow and interact with that kind of people who like Writing. Environment plays a major role in the life of a person.
